Frequently Asked Questions

Here you’ll find answers to some common questions about how I work, what to expect from counselling sessions, and practical details like cost, confidentiality and booking. If there’s anything else you’d like to ask, feel free to reach out — I’m happy to help.

How does the process begin?

Please get in touch with me via the enquiries page or email. You can let me know a little about what you would like to talk about. We could have a short call and you can ask me anything you need to know.

What is the cost of a session and how often do I need to have them?

£45 per 60 minute session online. Sessions would normally be weekly and can be either short or long-term, depending on your needs. The frequency of the sessions can be your preference, but we can discuss this in our initial chat. We could agree on either short term or long term therapy, depending on your goals and circumstances

How do I know if we are a good fit?

We can have a free short chat over the phone for us to get to know each other better with no obligations to continue, as I believe a good trusting relationship is essential. It is important that you find the right counsellor for you and that you feel comfortable. Afterwards, I can send you a counselling agreement which is a document providing you with information about things such as the process and confidentiality.

How do I guarantee safety and confidentiality

Our session is confidential. I am a member of the ACCPH and abide by their ethical standards and undergo monthly supervision. I am also fully insured. If you require details of these I am happy to provide them to you on request.

If there is an occasion where I am concerned about yours or someone else's safety I would need to tell someone else as this is a legal requirement. This will be explained in the counselling agreement.

How are session payments processed?

Payment via bank transfer is required before the session.

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes we can either re-schedule or cancel a session if you let me know 24 hours in advance. I will try my best to re-schedule a session under 24 hours notice if we can find a mutually agreeable time-slot, but if not, cancellations under 24 hours will be subject to payment of the full session fee.

If, for some reason, I have technical difficulties or am unable to come online at the agreed time, I will let you know as soon as possible.

Is there a counselling agreement?

Yes, we will go through the agreement at an early stage.
